Inaugural Reno-Tahoe International Marathon Coming to Reno-Sparks

Reno, Nevada, May 1, 2024 – With the departure of the iconic Reno Air Races this past September after an amazing 60 years, Reno-based event production company, PacWest Productions, is excited to announce the official launch of the Reno-Tahoe International Marathon to be held on the coveted second weekend in September moving forward. The inaugural race weekend will take place September 14-15, 2024 and will initially consist of the Reno-Tahoe International 10K, 5K & Mile Invitational.

Then in 2025, the Inaugural Reno-Tahoe International Marathon race weekend will take place September 12-14. This three day event will include a two day health and wellness expo which will include registration, packet pick up, merchandise store, sponsor and vendor expo along with special guest speakers. Saturday morning will include the second edition of our International 10K, 5K and Mile Invitational followed by a full marathon plus 2-person marathon relay and half marathon on Sunday. A special course unveiling will take place during the Inaugural Reno-Tahoe International 10K, 5K & Mile Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, September 14-15, 2024.

Unlike other cities where their marathon is the only event attraction, the cities of Reno and Sparks as well as the greater Lake Tahoe region offers our participants an amazing opportunity to come not just to race but to also see and experience the spectacular beauty of Lake Tahoe and the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains while also enjoying our premier entertainment, world class resort casinos and thriving eclectic art and food scene.”

This year’s first event weekend will consist of a fun spectator friendly Mile Invitational featuring many of the top high school boy and girl runners in the region as well as our First Responders Challenge featuring some of the fastest runners from our local law enforcement, emergency medical services, and fire service agencies. Then immediately following the mile will be the International 10K run and 5K run/walk. Both will take participants through the heart of both Downtown and Midtown Reno starting and finishing at the famous “Biggest Little City in the World” Reno Arch.
