RENO-TAHOE INTERNATIONAL 10K, 5K & Mile Invitational

Join us for the Inaugural Reno-Tahoe International 10K, 5K & Mile Invitational Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Race weekend kicks off with registration and packet pick up at City Plaza in the heart of downtown Reno Saturday, September 14.
Then Sunday morning a fun spectator friendly Mile Invitational showcasing many of the top high school boys and girls middle distance runners from Northern California and Northern Nevada in front of our 10K, 5K participants and spectators. We will also kick things off with a “First Responders Challenge” featuring the faster runners from each of our local law enforcement, emergency medical services and fire services agencies competing for bragging rights.
The course is centered in the heart of Downtown Reno from the famous Reno Arch where the start and finish line is. Athletes will head down on the Virginia Street .25 of mile to the turnaround point just past the Virginia Street Bridge and back…running the out and back loop twice.
At 9:00a, we will host the International 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk. Both races also start and finish at the Reno Arch. Participants will travel past iconic parts of Downtown and Midtown Reno including the Truckee River (twice), Pioneer Center and finish past The Row of resort casinos back at the Reno Arch. 10K runners will run the loop twice. Post-race refreshment and live entertainment will be staged from City Plaza along the Truckee River.
Race weekend will also be the public unveiling event of the Inaugural Reno-Tahoe International Marathon 3-day race weekend to be held on September 12-14, 2025.
RENO-TAHOE MILE INVITATIONAL (by invitation only)
Prior to the start of our 10K and 5K, we will host a fun spectator-friendly event in which we will feature some of the top high school boy and girls runners from the Greater Reno-Tahoe Region to race on a .25 mile two-loop course starting from and finish at the Reno Arch in the heart of Downtown Reno. However, to kick off the event we will additional host the Inaugural First Responders Challenge, featuring the fastest runners from each of our local agencies. We encourage all of our 10K and 5K runners and spectators to arrive early so you can cheer everyone on.
RENO-TAHOE INTERNATIONAL 5K RUN/WALK

Our 5K event is the prefect event for both runners and walkers to enjoy. This one-loop course take you from the Reno-Arch in the hear of Downtown Reno south on Virginia Street, over the Truckee Rive and through the center of Midtown Reno. Then after two quick left turns from E. Pueblo St and onto Holcomb Ave, participants will merge onto Center Street/University Way heading north to 5th Street. From there they will make another two quick left turns back onto Virginia Street heading back south past The Row of resort casinos finishing back at the Reno-Arch.
RENO-TAHOE INTERNATIONAL 10K RUN

For those wanting to go longer than 3.1 miles this year, we are offering a special 10K run-only option. Our 10K runners will have the unique opportunity to run the 5K course through Downtown and Midtown Reno twice.
Due to traffic management agreements with the City of Reno, we are encouraging our walkers to only participate in the 5K Run/Walk so that we can reopen traffic in Midtown by late morning.
